Meet Freckles the Hedgehog

I fell in love with Freckles. Just seeing him made me dance. My daddy loves hedgehogs, too. Maybe someday we can sneak one into our house.

Life lessons from a 7 month old

On the floor being passed by: Sophie the Giraffe - French-imported, specialty, natural material, custom birth record, pre-named with story included, $22.00. Being lovingly carried in my hand: sea horse bath toy, plastic from HABA, $1.50 maybe. Mama bought me Sophie as a special treat to replace my undying love for my bath toys. Notice which one I prefer. I am only too happy to pass Sophie by once again. And yet Mama keeps putting her out to see if I will warm up to her. Clearly, she has not yet learned her lesson. More money does NOT equal happy play. Sophie may need a new home.

My Buddy, The Bug

My home has been invaded by a big bug. His real name is Kai and he lives in Malaysia. His mama, Kate, is my god-mama, so that makes him my god-cousin, right? I keep trying to swat or squish him when the older folks look away. He's only 10 weeks old, so kinda defenseless, which gives me an advantage. Mama keeps trying to practice "gentle" with me, but I have no idea what that means yet.

I've been short on my posts lately; I guess I've been busy. Mama chases me at home now that I am speedy monkey (I crawl on a knee and a foot) and into everything like dirt, cat food, plants, wires, oh my! Who needs toys now that I can go anywhere I want to go? Mama takes me out all of the time, and the water park is our new favorite haunt. I sit at the edge of the water area and play in the puddles, or I try to grab the water as its spouting. I haven't figured that one out yet. It slips away. If we're not at the park, we're often at farmer's markets, sing-along class, the library, or taking a walk in the BOB.
